Sagebrush plant is found predominantly in The United States.
When sagebrush is clipped around springtime, the plant will emit signals to other plants nearby.
The plants nearby will "listen" to the signals and then activate their defense mechanisms.
Volatile organic compounds emitted by Sagebrush will alert surrounding plants to produce defensive chemicals, making them poisonous to outside attackers.
Sometimes it's observed, the plants of different species, for example, wild tobacco, also seem to listen in to the sagebrush signals and also ramp up their fighting strategies.
So plants wouldn’t just listen to their species, but would also "eaves-drop" on conversations of other plants.
This is one of the realest facts why plants can survive.
